Upon completion of the All-In-One Piano Lessons Book A, students will be ready to continue into the All-In-One Piano Lessons Book B. After completing Books A & B, students are ready to progress to Level 2 of the Hal Leonard Student Piano Library. 80 pages. From the very first lessons in Book 1, students are making music as they explore the piano keyboard through fun improvisation pieces called My Own Song. The beginning of the book introduces finger numbers, the black-key and white-key groups, and basic rhythm patterns. nDirectional reading is taught first by finger number, then by note name, and then by interval (stop, skip, and repeat). Once the students are introduced to the staff, they learn reading guides Bass F and Treble G and read by interval in several different hand positions.

Each book is a step by step graded presentation of cherished piano classics and innovative, engaging new music. Essential reading, performance, stylistic and technical skills are developed through the repertoire and additional material has been included to give students extra help with scales and listening skills. Once each grade book has been completed the aim is that the student has attained the expected proficiency for that level.
